Fantastic article covering a topic I very seldom see addressed. ..."Clinical practice guidelines are the documents that tell physicians what to do."...and nowhere in those guidelines is a physician taught to actually heal a patient or encourage him in the direction of self healing.

To be captured by the pharmaceutical industry...I can think of no worse torture. That means patients will be further traumatized by the invasion of deadly and toxic vaccines and drugs into their bodies under the guise of health and healing. Standard of poisoning is closer to the truth.

Nowhere along the line are doctors encouraged to investigate and present the root causes for illness and disease. The body enters the world as a pristine marvel and any deviation from that such as an ailment, illness or disease has specific causes which usually remain outside the purview of clinical practice guidelines.

This is exactly where modern medicine has totally failed. And the very reason I will not submit myself to its lunacy unless I am faced with life or death circumstances. In emergency medicine, at least there is some crumb of hope they can postpone death. As far as keeping you healthy along the road of life...forget it.

Bingo you nailed it. All of your post. And read Sasha's post today about ALL vaccines can cause "polio".

I usually state it as: ALL vaccines can and do cause/create every disease known to man. All vaccines, including the supposedly harmless vaccine - the Flu Shitshot, are horrific. As are 95% of ALL meds.

We all must become our own doctors and leave the conventional medical system for chronic care.

The conventional medical system cares for the system, not for us.

Why would anyone go into medicine now? Doctors and nurses are just technicians following protocols set by the industry. They have no more creative autonomy or discretion. Soon with AI it will be even more locked down. Follow the AI advice or lose your license.

The next step will be nano-bots inside our bodies that will communicate with the AI medical system in the cloud. It will read your signs and symptoms and automated test results remotely and decide whether you are sick or not and whether you can participate in society or not.

Doctors will be eliminated as an expensive useless appendage to a system that no longer needs them.

I suggest we adopt India's approach to medicine. Eliminate the monopoly that conventional medicine has. India has three different medical systems that compete - Homeopathic, Ayurvedic and Conventional. All three have a regulator, medical schools, hospitals, pharmacies, doctors, etc.. Doctors of all three can see patients in any hospital. As a result India gives their patients choice. They can choose if they want invasive medical care or not. For ayurvedic we would substitute Functional Medicine/Herbal/Chiropractic/Chinese Med/etc. Competition in medical care like anywhere else makes it more affordable with better accountability.

This is what my daughter endured during her pregnancy. At every turn. Threatened that if she did not follow the guidelines then she would not be accepted by the practice. It was a nightmare experience. To her credit she and her husband did their research. She stood her ground, controlling her gestational diabetes by diet, not insulin. She refused a vaccine injection(I think dtp) during the pregnancy and was treated as a bad mother-to-be. Because of her age of 35, the doctor wanted to induce her at 39 weeks. She said no. The doctor actually called her a pain in the *ss. He wanted to schedule her to be induced on a Friday. So convenient for him. They negotiated and she carried to 41 weeks. She delivered a beautiful full term 9 pound baby girl. Naturally. No epidural, no C section.

They also hired a Doula.

And they refused the Hep B injection, cream in the eyes, and “vitamin” k injection. A team of 3 doctors came into her room the next day to question her decisions and she sent them away. I went with her to several appointments the last two weeks before she delivered where they were monitoring her placenta’s health and the baby’s heartbeat. I heard the nurses casually use the word stillborn. That industry needs to be fixed.

She has found a pediatrician that will accept their decision to not vaccinate.

My late darling's and my dearest friend was in one of those "care facilities" after a serious health crisis in 2018. We cared for him in every way we could and did what we could to get him home ASAP. But he was more aligned with mainstream "medicine" than we...though this episode woke him up on various fronts.

One day I was delayed in getting to visit him till after the front doors of the facility were locked for the evening. I had to go in by the back/loading dock staff entry, ring the staff bell (they knew I was coming), etc.

There at the dock were the large wheeled trash boxes piled to overfull with empty #10 cans bearing the labels of the cheapest brands of canned "food" from the local restaurant wholesaler. Everything you can imagine--pasta, "cheese" sauces, vegetables, fruits, tomato sauce/products, condiments, etc. I recognized the labels/formats because I used to buy gallon jars of (good quality) kimchi from that store, and sometimes bulk organic vegetables for dehydrating.

So this was industrial-ag-grown stuff, with all the spraying that involves, certainly GMO (the sugar in everything there was beet sugar), grown who knows where, processed for shelf storage, the entire system conducted for profit skimming at every stage.

That is what they presented these vulnerable people on their trays. As "healthy" "food" recommended by "expert dieticians and nutritionists."

Don't even get me started on the "treats." Like "Magic Cup."

And as Margretta notes, then there was all the drugging.

sigh

I've been a guideline critic going back over 20 years; I published several articles and gave lectures decrying the trend and warning colleagues about how they would be used to control practice.

Practice guidelines completely destroyed physician autonomy, and the profession along with it! I talk about them in this article:

Richard, have you written on the topic of how "guidelines" mesh with insurance industry standards/specifications?

I've known a couple docs who connected those two realms. "Guidelines" developed to mesh with what the insurers are willing to pay for, out of their own profit models.

And of course all of that meshing with "health care industry"-developed products/tools/procedures.

So that the physician becomes an agent for delivering profits to all these elements of the model within a closely constrained set of possible actions. Which possibly suits many physicians just fine...since it offers more dependable income streams for them.

The archaeology of medicine as an institution is fascinating. Thanks for your contributions to that.

Richard Amerling, MD's avatar

I haven’t done a comprehensive review of guidelines exploring this topic. However, many years ago the Infectious Disease Society of America issued guidelines dismissing the diagnosis of chronic Lyme disease. Without getting into specifics, the guidelines had clear benefits for insurance companies paying for this lifetime treatment and there were conflicts of interest revealed in a lawsuit brought by then Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. They were amended as part of the settlement.

Thank you. I'll keep an eye on your feed; if you ever run across similar stuff or pointers to people doing work in this medical archaeology area, I hope you'll share it with the troops. Search engines don't work like they used to. :^|

Guidelines are the pseudo-scientific arm that pharma uses to look trustworthy. If anyone still trust modern medicine, guidelines, etc., they need to go back to the roots to find out that medicine was never meant to cure -- only manage while they're sick: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/4-ways-to-save-healthcare-and-how

"Doctors are less likely to follow guidelines for themselves..."

I'm thinking that is at least partially due to the probability that a doctor will never sue himself

Very likely you can kill someone KNOWING you're killing them following "best practice" and never be sued effectively. Exhibit A would be almost ANY vax injector but particularly the mRNA shots. Some one can sue you but probably win nothing but a bill from his/her lawyer because the injection army is "just following orders".

But god forbid you make a good faith well informed responsible effort to save a patient doing things outside "best practice". You may be in for a world of hurt if that patient dies. Exhibit A would have too be that doctor who substituted saline for mRNA. (refer below) Pretty sure no one even died there and he did it to protect people in a difficult situation. His crime was refusing to subject people to the by then KNOWN high risk of harm and death from mRNA injections while also knowing the injections were ineffective in protecting anyone from anything (BUT THE LAW).

From the Brave search engine

what is the name of the doctor who was prosecuted for putting saline in COVID shots

"Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., a plastic surgeon from Midvale, Utah. He was indicted in January 2023 for leading a scheme that involved discarding government-supplied vaccines, selling fraudulent vaccination cards, and injecting children with saline AT THEIR PARENT'S REQUEST so they believed they were vaccinated. Although he faced up to 35 years in prison...."

Bottom line is he was helping people in a VERY difficult circumstance. We all remember. Enter the death lottery or get kicked out of school etc.

Probably not excusable to adopt the position of "I know the guidelines are crap but I don't want to be sued" but I can see why doctors might choose to stay within the guidelines even if they know/suspect it is nonsense.

Sometimes I think a tiny part of what we see is the unintended consequence of an overly litigious society. We need the recourse to sue but some times it feels like there are too many people (or is it the lawyers) looking to score a pay day just because the pay day is there to be scored. Settling out of court whether the suit has merit or not is big business. Is there any doctor that has not been sued? I don't know the answer to that but seems I recall there was a time when almost ALL Obstetrics/Gynecology doctors were being sued and there was a crisis to even find people for that field. At the very least it made everything insanely expensive because the price of insurance was insanely expensive. The guys who print money and toss it around may win but does the system improve medicine? Baby still has too be delivered. It's just that now a HUGE portion goes to insurance guys and the financial industry.

In a patient-doctor adversarial and litigious society why would anyone even want to be a doctor? I mean seriously. You go in to medicine because you feel you have a calling and you objectively have the cognitive chops and first thing you know after laying awake trying to figure out how to save someone they try to sue the snot out of you. Probably not the soul rewarding experience you thought you might get when you thought you had "a calling" to go try and heal people.

So why would ANYONE go in to a field where they are likely to be sued to death? One of the few motivations is THE MONEY. Not exactly the primary motivation you want but I can sometimes understand why someone would just put their blinders on and take the money in the safest way possible. Stay within the rules even if they are wrong and dangerous and you'll be OK. Step outside and touch the third rails and you'll get zapped.

Korpijarvi's avatar

> Very likely you can kill someone KNOWING you're killing them following "best practice" and never be sued effectively.

This guy gets it.

Which is why I've long considered "medicine" a protection racket and form of organized crime. I know there are good people inside various systems trying to do well. But you cannot organize, institutionalize, and monetarize an entire realm of human endeavor--dealing with the ills flesh is heir to--without dragging in all the behaviors and systems that those activities naturally bring. Like greed. And litigation. And one's-own-@ss-saving.

You're holding in your palm the Gordian Knot, Ray. Thanks for these thoughts.

Machiavelli argues that “strategic concealment” is more effective than simple lying in manipulation. If docs are too busy (lazy, stressed, or ill-equipped) to search for alternatives, they may go for the easily available answer. I used to love the Merck Manual, over complete textbooks. Or online, "UpToDate," over the entire National Library of Medicine, which may be also driven by controlled research. Then, there's consensus statements put out by experts attending a specialty conference. If a fair and complete review, hard to tell sometimes, these could be good sources. Now, who knows about AI?

But my "learning" was driven by patients, who had objections. The Rx is too expensive, I had side effects, whatever. Then I'd have to dig into the data, and read the studies, if available. Then make the best "guess," with the patient.

But document everywhere. I never had any problem going against the grain, if I discussed the choice with the patient and the, "why," in the chart.

But I'm sure that manipulation can happen.

The Common Cold Lie

I grew up hearing the same line everyone else did:

“If someone found a cure for the common cold, the world would beat a path to their door.”

That’s not true.

Not even close.

If someone found a real solution to the common cold—and it didn’t make money for the medical system—it wouldn’t be celebrated.

It would be ignored.

Dismissed.

Buried.

Because the system doesn’t reward cures.

It rewards repeat customers.

Sickness Is a Business Model

Think about it.

If you don’t get sick:

You don’t go to the doctor

You don’t buy cold medicine

You don’t fill prescriptions

You don’t come back next month

That’s not healthcare. That’s lost revenue.

The common cold alone generates tens of billions of dollars every year. Not because it’s deadly—but because it’s constant. Reliable. Profitable.

Now zoom out.

When you include all infectious diseases—doctor visits, pharmaceuticals, hospital care—you’re looking at a global industry measured in the trillions.

Trillions.

And you think a simple, inexpensive, preventive solution is going to be embraced inside that system?

No chance.

The Problem With Prevention

Prevention breaks the model.

A person who stays healthy is a person who doesn’t pay.

That’s the fundamental conflict.

You’ve been trained to think health starts when you get sick—when symptoms appear, when you need treatment, when you enter the system.

But real health starts before that.

And anything that keeps you out of the system is a threat to it.

Enter Ozone Water

Ozone water is not complicated.

It’s water infused with ozone—an energized form of oxygen.

No chemical residue.

No patented drug.

No lifetime subscription.

Just water and oxygen.

It’s already used in:

Food sanitation

Water treatment

Pharmaceutical manufacturing

Let that sink in.

Pharma uses ozone water to sterilize the equipment that makes drugs…

…but won’t touch it as a preventive health tool.

Not because it doesn’t work.

Because it doesn’t fit.

What Happens When You Reduce Pathogens Daily

Most infections don’t start in a hospital.

They start with exposure—often in your mouth and throat.

If you reduce that microbial load consistently, you lower the chance of infection taking hold.

That’s basic.

Not controversial. Not radical.

Just ignored.

Because a daily, low-cost hygiene approach doesn’t generate billions in revenue.

The Reality No One Wants to Say Out Loud

If people adopted simple preventive habits that actually worked…

Cold and flu seasons would shrink

Doctor visits would drop

Pharmaceutical sales would decline

Entire segments of the healthcare economy would contract.

That’s the part nobody wants to talk about.

So No—No One Is Beating a Path to Your Door

Not when there’s tens of billions tied to the common cold.

Not when there are trillions tied to infectious disease.

Not when staying healthy costs pennies a day.

You weren’t told the truth growing up.

A real solution doesn’t get celebrated.

It gets resisted.

The Choice

You can keep playing the game:

Get sick → treat symptoms → repeat

Or you can step outside of it:

Reduce exposure → lower pathogen load → stay well.

One feeds the system.

The other makes you less dependent on it.
